DARKNESS INTO LIGHT – KINVARA

Saturday morning 6th May, Kinvara

will host Darkness into Light 5k walk/run at 4.15 am from St Joseph’s N.S. for Pieta House (Centre for Prevention of Suicide and Self harm).

This is a worldwide symbolic fundraising event; walking or running from darkness to light to give HOPE.

Kinvara Community Games

Reminder: Games (KCG) are on Mon. May 1st in GAA Pitch. Registration 12 noon and events start at 12.30pm. Full list of events on KCG Facebook page. This year is the Jubilee Year for the community games. The committee would like to thank you for your continued support as these games couldn’t go ahead without it. The recent Church Gate collection raised €546 which goes to the running of the events. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Workshop

How to Cope with the Loss of a Loved One: two day workshop which helps participants to come to terms with the loss of a loved one, be it through sudden death, illness, suicide or the aging process. This workshop enables participants to find a place for their loss, and provides the coping skills necessary to honour that loss which makes living and survival possible. Ballinderreen Community Centre

will feature Buttons and Bows in concert next Sunday 7th May at 8:00 pm. Members Jackie Daly, Séamus & Manus McGuire and Garry O’Briain, play an exciting repertoire of tunes, including Irish traditional music, Quebecois waltzes, Danish quadrilles and Shetland airs. Loop Hearing Aid System

loopThis system is now installed in St. Colman’s Church, Ballinderreen, St. Colman’s Church, Kinvara and St. Joseph’s Church, Kinvara. However, this system will not be available in St. Kieran’s Church, Doorus as the Church is too small for it to be effective.

In order to avail of this facility please switch your Hearing Aid to the ‘T’ position.

Induction loop systems are invaluable in assisting hearing aid users to understand spoken language, particularly in situations where there is background noise. Hopefully, this will be of great benefit to all hearing aid users.
